Thailand is the world’s largest exporter of tapioca and tapioca products, but is ranked third largest producer of tapioca, after Nigeria and Brazil. Thailand is also the leader in breeding, planting, producing and trading of the world tapioca.

Tapioca are one of the crucial trading products of Thailand that are used as  raw materials in agro-based industry, animal feed, sweetener, beverages, pharmacy, paper-making, textiles, adhesives, alcohol, etc.

Thailand proudly organizes the World Tapioca Conference 2009 on 15-16 January 2009 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Thailand.  This conference aims to be a forum for information exchange, technological dissemination, and business discussions/negotiations among experts, academicians, officials, traders and growers throughout the country and around the world. The main features of the event will include an informative international academic conference and eye-opening technological exhibitions on production and value creation of tapioca products.
